Inspired by a collection of 13th-century tales and poetry by the Sufi poet Farid ud-Din Attar, "The Conference of the Birds" by Juulie is a musical, poetic, and visual odyssey into the dreamlike and mythical world of birds. Its themes are spiritual, mystical, and deeply human, inviting exploration of liberation, awakening, and the journey to a world where cages are broken by freedom, love, and unity.
The singer-songwriter wanted to share a quest that transcends borders and certainties in this unique and deeply moving album-book-record. The album, produced by François Lalonde and Juulie, accompanied by a book illustrated by Iranian artist Nahid Kazemi, will be launched on May 13 at the Lion d'Or in Montreal.
